Dew Valley was the first company in Europe to introduce the benefits of microwave technology to the commercial production of cooked bacon. Our ready-cooked streaky rashers already enjoy a significant share of the U.K. prepared bacon sandwich and burger market and we have diversified into value added products to satisfy the requirements of our customers.
Dew Valley Foods is a family owned business with origins in the butchery trade, they started as craft butchers in Thurles selling beef and pork products to the local community. The business focussed its development in pork and bacon and in 1993 the company moved to its current site where we started cooking bacon products for the ‘food to go’ and Quick Service Restaurant market.
Dew Valley Foods cures all of it own streaky bacon allowing us to be highly innovative when it comes to taste and flavour. We use only natural ingredients where possible and massage these ingredients into the meat during the curing process.
Dew Valley Foods were the first company in Europe to introduce microwave technology to cook bacon, and over the years this technology has been pivotal in the growth of our business as it delivers the consistent quality and the correct functionality for the cooked bacon market.

Streaky bacon can be worked to a specific cook level, ranging from a very crispy dark product to a light cook paler product. Traditional Back Bacon is ideally suited for the for rapidly growing breakfast market across Ireland and the UK. Our back bacon products are produced on a hot air line, this process ensures that we keep as much moisture as possible in the product so that it will regenerate like freshly cooked product.
Dew Valley Foods can provide a wide variety of dice size and flavours to meet any requirement. Our ready to eat products can be used straight from the pack. Our delicious cooked pizza bacon has been specifically developed for pizza manufactures, while our diced cooked bacon is a great addition to salads, quiches, potatoes, burgers and recipe dishes.

We have developed a bespoke process in order to produce the optimum bacon product. Our unique process has been developed over the years, working in partnership with key equipment suppliers to create a distinctive product. We have developed a unique curing process which creates specific flavour profiles, as per our customers’ requirements.
